How to Use….

The Fire Place

Before using the fireplace make sure the fire extinguisher is available and has adequate pressure. Please contact us immediately if the fire extinguisher is not working or appears to be low on pressure.

We provide you with a small amount of fire starter. Feel free to bring your own or buy additional that you are more comfortable using.

There will be wood provided to you inside the house near the fireplace. We keep additional fire wood outside, conveniently on the back porch.

Once you get a fire going it is best to leave the door to the fire place a little cracked to keep oxygen circulating. When the fire gets large enough and above 400 degrees for 10 mins the blower will kick on (when switched on). The controls for the blower are to the right of the fireplace and will display the current temperature of the fireplace.

The blower is important. When it turns on, it removes all carbon dioxide from the exhaust and is able to heat the main living area quite well.

  • How to Start a Fire

Place 2 - 3 pieces of wood in the fire place. Next, place the fire starter on the wood and light it on fire using a long lighter.

Once the fire expands stack 1 - 2 more pieces on the fire.

  • Flue

After the fire is lit, pull the knob above the fire place towards you. Pull it about 50% open, not all the way open. As the fire grows, open the flue more.

  • Blower Fan

Switch the blower to the on position. It will kick on immediately. Once the temperature of the fire reaches 400°, the fan will turn on.
